Dion Fire Safety Security Ltd. was established by Murdo MacDonald, who returned to Stornoway in 1990 after many years in the south.

Following time at sea and in the Northern Police, Murdo spent 20 years in security service with several national companies – the latter 16 as Group Security Director with London based trading conglomerate Cowan, de Groot Plc.

Murdo has since retired and has passed the reins to his son Angus. Angus is an ex Facilities Manager so knows how important it is to be able to rely on your suppliers advice and service.

No two days are the same for the Dion Technicians, as Murdo could tell you! He came around a corner in Lewis to be faced with a client with smoke billowing from his car engine. Murdo took a fire extinguisher and promptly put out the fire, the client commented, “You arrive and I haven’t even called you – how’s that for service!”

Murdo joined IFEDA and BFC so he could network with other members. “Being so remote, it’s useful to chat to other members of the fire trade. Only two reps have ever visited – guess who gets our business!”
